ImageJ and Scion on Win2003?

Vincenzo Della Mea
Anyone tried Scion cameras on Win2003, using ImageJ? It seems that the
installercannot be run on.

Thanks,
Vincenzo

Re: ImageJ and Scion on Win2003?

I have a Scion 1312 monochrome firewire camera running under ImageJ on
WinXP (is this what you mean by Win2003?)
The order in which the installation steps are done is important; if
done out of order, the plugin to grab images with the Scion does not
work.

1)  Install the Scion camera driver and then SFW ImageJ from the Image
J folder on the Scion camera software CD.

2)  Go to the NIH ImageJ web page and download ij134.zip, extract
ij.jar to the folder: C:\Program Files\ImageJ (rename the existing file
as ij.jar.bak)

3)  Then upgrade to the latest Java runtime environment and copy the
files from C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_04 to C:\Program
Files\ImageJ\jre\

Done in that order, it should work.  If the JRE is upgraded before the
camera drivers are installed, etc., the camera software installation has
problems.

Good luck,

Mary Ann

No, I really mean Windows 2003 Server. I already have it on an XP box,
however I want to use a more powerful computer with, perhaps, a better
file management, as I produce thousands of images.

Anyway, thanks.

plugin to separate frames in a Quicktime movie and save as workable files for ImageJ

bremsstrahlung recordings
Hello,

I am new to Image J but am very interested in exploring its potential.

I was intersted in using Image J with Quicktime movies obtained from Digital camera.

Then, once those frames are individual files arranged in a stack could i render the background as transparant and overlay the frames so the the moment of the objects is observed as lines?  Could this be an easy way to trace the movement of birds in flight, ants, etc?

  Thanks,
  Josh
