ImageJ cannot open 48-bit LZW compressed TIFFs with predictor

I'm getting the error message
"java.io.IOException: ImageJ cannot open 48-bit LZW compressed TIFFs with predictor"

when trying to open a 48-bit TIFF (16-bit RGB).

I see that the same error cropped up some time ago but I believe it would have been fixed in the later versions of ImageJ?

I am currently using ImageJ 1.50b.

Please try with the Bio-Formats plugin:
  http://imagej.net/Bio-Formats

IIRC, it includes support for that flavor of TIFF.

It is included with Fiji:
  http://fiji.sc/
