ImageJ extremely slow in Vista 64

Hi group,
I've been using ImageJ in Vista 64 with the 64-bit Java
(1.6_u14).
It is extremely slow and sluggish.  Menus and options can
take 10 seconds to appear. In general, things are just
sloooow and unresponsive.

It definitely wasn't like this when I had Vista 32 running.

Any advice on how to track down what is making it so slow?
