ImageJ on a Flash drive

I need to run ImageJ on several different machines but do not have the privileges need to actually install it on them. Also, I need to make sure I'm running the same version of ImageJ and Java on all of the machines. So I want to put ImageJ on a USB drive and take it from machine to machine, running it from the drive instead of installing it. Reading some past posts from the list seems to indicate that this is possible but doesn't give quite enough detail for me to figure out exactly what to do. I suspect I need to fiddle with the ImageJ.cfg file to make sure I'm pointing to the right Java (the one on the USB drive), and to compensate for the fact that the USB drive is on an unknown drive letter (E:\, F:\, etc., instead of C:\). I don't need to worry about cross platform--for this application, all the machines are Windows XP service pack 3, 32 bit.

What I think I need to do:

Download the latest ImageJ installer.
Run it, directing the installer to the USB drive.
Edit ImageJ.cfg on the USB drive (but I don't know the details)
Perhaps some other steps?
Take the USB drive to another machine without ImageJ, and run it from the USB drive.

Can somebody help me fill in the details?

You might interested in downloading and unpacking the "all platforms"
version of Fiji (http://pacific.mpi-cbg.de/), which includes Java for
Linux and Windows (but not for MacOSX, for legal reasons).
