Hello everyone,
Recently, the Laboratory for Optical and Computational Instrumentation (LOCI) at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, in collaboration with the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) at Woods Hole and the CellProfiler team at the Broad Institute, submitted a proposal to NIH to refine ImageJ’s core design to accommodate a broader range of needs in the scientific community.
The proposal has been funded, and LOCI is now seeking 3-4 experienced programmers to assist with this effort. We will be working closely with Wayne Rasband as well as the Fiji developers at the MPI-CBG to pursue the proposal's aims, which you can read about at:
http://imagejdev.org/aimsApplicants must have 2+ years experience working on large Java software projects. Knowledge of ImageJ, cross-platform C++, GCC, Visual Studio, CMake, Ant, revision control systems, and other modern programming tools is preferred. Ideal candidates will also have experience with open source programming projects, a passion for biological imaging and scientific research, and excellent communication skills. This position is for a period of two years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
