Light-emitting Diode (LED) versus incandescent light

Hi all,
Does anyone know if LED source of light is a concern for microscope image acquisition?
Some new microscopes are now delivered with LED.
Spectrums of both sources of light are quite different.

LED is a  good selection as it has lots of advantages, such as wide spectral, long use time and easy to integrate different shape.


    As to microscope deviec, I think the key is lens, maybe you should choose special lens to avoid week light transmission.

We have an LED for brightfield imaging on our dissecting scope and it has the advantage over traditional bulbs for maintaining stable spectra over different intensities.  The previous halogen color shifted depending on intensity.
