I often jokingly refer to Fiji as a "complaint-driven project": if we did
not include a certain plugin, it is mostly because we did so many other
things ;-)
Now, from a cursory look it appears that the Mosaic 3D tracking plugin is
Open Source (which is a pre-condition these days for inclusion into Fiji),
so there are only few things that need to be done before it can be
integrated. Maybe you want to help with one or more of these?
1) The license needs to be clarified and put into the LICENSES file in
Fiji (Help>Licenses). I haven't been diligent enough with this in the
past, but I want to require this for the future (and also add the licenses
for all the components that are not yet listed in that file).
2) I make a point of asking the authors of the plugins whether they are
okay with including things in Fiji. Sure, if the license allows it, we
should be able to bundle the plugin, nevertheless, I find it much nicer to
be explicit about it.
3) There needs to be a Wiki page describing the plugin and how to use it,
preferably in the form of a tutorial, maybe with sample data (if our
existing sample data does not really fit the algorithm).
4) The plugin sources need to be Mavenized, included into the source code
of Fiji and tested. Then we can upload and write a news item on our Wiki.
Ciao,
Johannes
