Macro/plugin for labeling CT images

Does anybody know of a macro or plugin that varies the color of
setColor() for text so that it will provide a high contrast against the
background grayness of the CT slice? At the moment I am using
drawString(message,xstart,ystart) with a fixed grayness but at times it
is unreadable.
