Last year, I ran a workshop during the 28th New Zealand Conference on Microscopy. I have decided to share the documentation publicly via the BIRU website<https://www.fmhs.auckland.ac.nz/en/sms/about/our-departments/biomedical-imaging-research-unit/image-processing-and-analysis/mnz-workshop-2017.html> in the hope that it will also be useful for others, particularly those novices who are just getting started. The workshop was for beginners so most documents involve showing the steps required for processing/analysis so there are only a couple of examples where macros are involved. As many of you know, it is usually straightforward to implement the image processing steps in a macro to automate the analysis for batch processing once the necessary steps have been identified. The Introduction document covers calibration, scale bars, etc. which are questions that I am often asked about here, in fact again several times just in the last few days! You will note that the documents refer to specific images/datasets. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide all of these images as some belong to others and I would need their permission to allow their use for a different purpose. Of course, there are always other ways of approaching problems and some of you may have better ways of carrying out these tasks! If so, I'd be happy to hear about any improvements.
