Microtubule characterization

Sumit Paliwal
Hello everybody,
I have binarized images of microtubule network. Microtubules are fiber
like polymers in cells which pass over each other in 3D. When captured
in a 2D image they tend to overlap each other and hence cross each
other. I am interested in finding a plugin/macro or an algorithm
(Matlab or some other language) that can characterize the fiber
length, orientation, mesh size of this "network". I am sure such tools
exist for other systems like polymers, etc. I would really appreciate
comments/help on this subject.

Thank you,
Sumit
