Hello,
Is there a plugin available to open Siemens MRI .ima files in Imagej? |
These are probably DICOM files and should open OK. You can also download some
DICOM plugins that may give added functionality. Thank you Bob for your reply.
When I try 'Import->Image Sequence' I get a dialog box saying "This folder does not appear to contain any ..., DICOM, ... files." I installed the 'Import DICOM Sequence' plugin, and I see the same message. So, it appears that the .ima files are not/can not be treated as DICOM files, at least in these cases. Any other ideas? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Dec 2006 23:04:28 -0500 From: "Zimmerman, Robert Edward,M.S." <[hidden email]> Subject: Re: Plugin for Siemens ima Files These are probably DICOM files and should open OK. Grant and others:
We have been opening and/or importing .IMA files for years, with absolutely no problem. We do that normally on a Mac, and I have heard nobody from our group having problems on other platforms. I never saw the message you list below. What model scanner are you getting these files from? I suspect its a VISION or IMPACT. in which case these may be SPI files or the internal Siemens fromat both described on David CLunies Web site I have a VISION and can do some test for you. Its always easier to get the scanner to export DICOM format files ue, 26 Dec 2006 10:40:20 -0800 Send reply to: ImageJ Interest Group <[hidden email]> From: "McAuley, Grant (LLU)" <[hidden email]> Subject: Re: Plugin for Siemens ima Files To: [hidden email] > Thank you Bob for your reply. > > When I try 'Import->Image Sequence' I get a dialog box saying "This folder does not appear to contain any ..., DICOM, ... files." Thank you for your reply.
The message I see is in 1.37v on Windows XP Pro SP2. On my Linux machine (2.6.17, Kubuntu), I don't have the plugin installed, but when I try to open a single .ima file, a similar message appears (ie, ~ not ..., DICOM, ...). Thank you for your reply.
Yes, the original data comes from a VISION scanner. However, the files I want to open are then post-processed in another software package that outputs the ima format. So even access to the original DICOMs would not help me here. However, I looked at the web site you mentioned and was able to open a sequence of ima file using: File->Import->Raw [big endian; 16bit unsigned;offset to first image: 6144; open all files in folder]. It seems to work OK - I will take a closer look at the images to be sure. Thank you for your help! I know this topic is a bit old. But I have a similar question and it is more about the software rather than the IMA format. Would the scanner have an option to burn the images in a dcm format, is that something that is possible to be selected when you are burning images?
Thanks in advance in those that would reply. |
