Possible bug in 1.45m: text entry invokes keyboard commands on an XP machine

Using Windows XP and ImageJ 1.45m on a machine I've never used before and for which the native language is Hebrew but is being used with English text, when using the text tool, entry of some single characters invokes commands for which that character is a keyboard command equivalent, rather than causing entry of that character. For example, if I enter "af", what happens is that the entire image becomes selected (due to "a' being the keyboard equivalent of "selectAll", and the image is then filled with the foreground color ("f" --> "fill"). Many characters are entered as expected.

No such problem occurs on my Mac (OS10.6.8) using ImageJ 1.45n17.
