Hi,
you could try this dicom plugin which is
able to read dicom jpeg lossless images:
(it is also able to read an entire directory
of images into a stack)
http://www.iftm.de/telemedizin/dcmimex.htm it uses the dcm4che library from Gunter Zeilinger, which works very well.
