Dear all,
I am trying to analyze images taken with Siemens Magnetom Sonata. The images are on Dicom format and I use Image J version 1.35f. The problem is that I don´t know if it is possible to read the sequence information of the Dicomdir file with Image J. Now I just know how to open one image or a set of images but because I don´t know how to read the Dicomdir I can´t distinguish the images belonging to the different sequences. This poses a problem because I have 500 images from every patient (about 70 of them) and finding out which files belong to which sequence manually using Show info feature of Image J would take ages. I found quite similar question from the questions archive from year 2001 but couldn´t find the answer. So I would be really grateful is someone could tell me whether there is a solution to this problem or not. Sami Soljanlahti, MD Helsinki Medical Imaging Center Helsinki, Finland |
Terve Sami,
we have written - using the dcm4che DICOM Tools - a ImageJ Plugin that can read DICOMDIR Information. The plugin is in the moment in BETA test, therefore this was not send to the List. You can try it and I have made a version (ImageJ and the plugin) available at our project page: http://projects.santec.lu/optimage/optimageDownload/ImageJ-and-DICOMImporterPlugin-BETA.zip You can help us testing and give your comments about the plugin. We plan to release it soon to the public with an announcement to the ImageJ list. Please launch for the moment the runImageJ.jar file with a double click or at command line. It sets the necessary CLASSPATH for you (this is a part we are working in the moment). If the plugin is launched, there is a button bar: First Button: Import Files (Files System, DICOMDIR and local PACS) Second Button: Configuration (here you can set which of the open dialogue should be enabled as well as the local PACS server that comes with the plugin) Third button: a help screen(not finished yet) I hope this helps you, Andreas -------------------------------------------- Andreas Jahnen Ingenieur de Recherche -------------------------------------------- e-mail: [hidden email] CRP Henri Tudor http://www.santec.lu 29, Avenue John F. Oh, i didnt get a chance to look at the plugin. But this is
what i am looking for in a DICOM plugin - Saveas .DCM format Suppose i change the DICOM image (RGB cineloop) say, crop it or chop-off every alternate file or some such thing. We, in our ultrasound lab, would like to save the changed cineloop back as .dcm file format. This works much better than saving it in tiff or jpeg file format. Will your plugin do this? Can someone throw some light in this. Thankyou, Ganesh ************************************************************** Smile is a curve that sets life straight ! Currently, I noted that the PACS can only deliver a single image. Am I mistaken, or will there be a solution for an entire series to be sent via the PACS tool?

If you select a series in the PACS manage window, and no single picture is selected, then the whole series will be send. It works the same way for whole studies, if no series is selected.
