"QuickTime 7 has expired" errors

Jeff Hardin
Hi folks,

One of the respondents about QuickTime for Windows (triggered by the
thread below) provided the error trace, and it says that Quicktime
has expired. This is a known issue with older installs of QuickTime 7
for Windows.

Apparently Apple failed to update the expiration date on QT 7 for
Windows. It's evidently fixed with QuickTime 7.03.50, according to
people on the QuickTime for Java listserve, but you have to do one of
two things:

(1) Update to iTunes 6.0.1, which automatically updates QuickTime to
7.0.3
(2) Update from the QuickTime Control Panel or QuickTime player might
work, or it may be possible to download the updater manually. See
post below (from "andrea") from the listserve...

I haven't been running QT 7 for Windows, so I can't check this...

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Jeff

Re: "QuickTime 7 has expired" errors

Hi,

Running the updater from QuickTime Player does not solve the problem.
You have to redownload the QuickTime 7 installer from the QuickTime web
site, and reinstall. But you do not need to install iTunes.
