QuickTime Capture plugin video corruption

nhebda
Hi all,

As part of my research I need to view and analyze a live video feed from a USB video camera mounted on a dissecting scope. The software that shipped with the microscope displays the live feed just fine, but lacks the analysis tools I require. Therefore, I have turned to ImageJ and am attempting to use the QuickTime Capture plugin.

Unfortunately, I've encountered a problem. When I attempt to view the live feed via the File>Import>Video command, the image is badly corrupted:

Strangely, however, the preview in the plugin settings dialogue shows up just fine:

I've tried a number of different settings, to no avail.

I'm on Windows XP SP3, and I've got the latest versions of QuickTime (7.7.1), Java (1.6.0_29-b11), ImageJ (1.45s), and the WinVDIG video digitizer wrapper (1.0.5) installed. The drivers that shipped with the camera are properly installed, I've got QuickTime for Java properly installed, and my video drivers are up-to-date.

Does anybody know how to resolve this problem? Can anybody recommend an alternative plugin with similar functionality? Any help would be hugely appreciated.
