Dear Listmates,

Are there any firewire microscope cameras that work with linux? My
labmates were considering buying a Leica DFC420, which costs a small
fortune.

I was browsing the web and found a project called "micro-manager" which
might be able control microscopes and cameras under linux and uses

Is there anyone here experienced with this tool?

Anyone uses this with this Leica Camera? With what camera specifications
besides price and resolution should I be concerned about when choosing a
device? Any suggestions for good devices I could check?
