Re: Will Pay for Help - Macro : from "NIH Image" to "ImageJ [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Goldsmith, Noel
Hi,
There is of course the ported version of NIH-Image which does run on OSX and
on Intel Macs using Rosetta.
This is called ImageSXM.
Can be downloaded from a link on the following page.
http://www.liv.ac.uk/~sdb/ImageSXM/ImageSXM.LatestNews.html
I have not tried your macro code out with it, but think that this should do
the job you need.

Also, on the subject of NIH-Image macros and ImageJ macros and plug-ins.
An NIH-Image macro (as is an ImageJ Macro) is a set of commands which tell
the program to do certain things, usually as if they were commands selected
from the menus.
So, you should be able to run your macro, line by line by selecting various
menu items in the correct order. Of course you may get a bit stressed and
bored, especially when the options need re-setting for various commands.
So the job of converting from an NIH-Image macro to and ImageJ macro may be
simple, so-long as the equivalent menu commands exist.

To write a plug-in is the next step, and does require Java, just as in
NIH-Image, your own code could be added using the Pascal complier. But if
you were happy with the performance of the Macro running in NIH-Image, you
will also be happy with an equivalent macro running in ImageJ.

Hope this helps
Noel
