Re: applet embedded in a browser

Alan Harvey
Greetings,

I have been looking for a way for my students to do some basic image analysis online for some time, and this is by far the closest I've found to what I need. However, I have never tried to deal with Java applets in my own web pages, and I must be missing something basic about their implementation, because while the sourceforge link works on my machine (other than a missing image error message), nothing happens on the page that I set up on our server:

http://www.bio.georgiasouthern.edu/bio-home/harvey/imageJtest.html

Back in the day, I used nih Image extensively, and have used ImageJ as well, so that I can write a brief tutorial for the students to do the limited things they need to do. It would be best to have the instructions on the same page as the applet; is there an obvious, and easily fixable, reason why the sourceforge page plays well enough on my computer but mine doesn't? I'm using ij_1.45q here.

Thanks very much,

Cheers,

Alan
