Request for help/ plugins/ luminance analysis

Hi ImageJ List,
I found you on the web, and I am contemplating to enter into the open
source world. I am Mat.eng, active in solar and LED lighting optics.
I need to do image analysis based on luminance, i.e. i take digital images
of light coming from an area, and need to analyze the photon-stream in
terms of luminance, illumination, lumen stream a.s.o.
I then want to be able to create false-color maps, but also get absolute
values of lumen/area.
I use laser (green, blue, red) and later will use white light and sunlight.
The laser is great for visualizing raypaths in real parts, and do quality
control and simulation streamlining.

I have seen on the website, that there is an extensive number of plugins
and knowledgeable people around, so I am in quite great hopes to be able to
solve my problems with your help.
