Requesting help in reading ID tatoo on lost dog

Dear list,

A random stranger asked for help on Hungarian Unix Portal (hup.hu) in
identifying a scrambled ID tatoo on a lost collie dog. The tattoo
should read a letter, and 4 numbers after it.
We already know that the first letter has to be an "M", and on
statistical basis, the numbers after it could read on dogs given by
date:

2004.01.10. 2462-2751
2005.02.08. 2752-2973

According to the thread opener, the central line of the tattoo moved
upwards as the dog grew.

I already asked for a larger resolution image of the tatoo with guide
lines how it should be read, and how the ink dots could have moved in
time.

Dear list,

I have aquired the original, unmodified image of the tattoo, you can
download it from the link below:

http://akion.planetnexuiz.de/dogtattoo/collie_tattoo.jpg (warning! the
image is 3,8 MB large!)

The original reading direction should be the line conecting the two
nipples. The inkspots moved in a half circular way in an "upward
direction". The numbers originally should be the same height as the
initial M letter.
