Severe perfomance drop after last Fiji update

Greg
Hi,

today after some time I finally decided to upgrade Fiji to ImageJ 1.50a. I must say that I instantaneously regret it. Working with nd2 Hyperstacks became much much slower. For very small one frame three channel nd2 files which are only 5Mb in size it now takes roughly 1-2 seconds to switch between channels, even when in not-virtual-stack mode! And also even the drawing of simple rectangular Rois is very laggy right now. Working with tifs is also affected, although this new laggyness isn't that strong in that case. But also here channel switching takes around 1second and the image only slowly appears from top to bottom.

I am using Mac OS 10.10.

How can I downgrade Fiji again?

Best,
Gregor

Re: Severe perfomance drop after last Fiji update

Greg
Hi Curtis,

thx for that advise, sadly the downgrade to 1.49v did not reverted my Fiji back to the old state without that laggy behavior. I posted a stack dump (taken before the downgrade) to this thread here

http://imagej.1557.x6.nabble.com/Channels-Tool-Freezes-on-Fiji-and-MacOS-10-9-5-tp5013822.html

I hope this can help.

Greets,
Gregor

The issue is likely with Java 8, not with ImageJ 1.49v.

ImageJ 1.50b7 and later works around a critical Java 8 resulting in the
behavior you describe [1].

So please try again, updating to the latest ImageJ daily build using the
Help > Update ImageJ command.
