Unable to open tiff files

Md Tamjidul Hoque
Dear All

using ImageJ before I used to open tiff files. But, now I
have many tiff files for which ImageJ is not working. I am attaching one
sample tiff file.

Any suggestion or help is much appreciated.

Thanks
Tamjid

Hi Tamjid,

Your TIFF file has a Compression value of 0, which is not normally valid (at
least, I couldn't find any information on a value of zero anywhere). Your
data appears to be uncompressed, which is supposed to record a value of 1 in
the Compression field. This is probably a bug in the software used to
generate the TIFF file.

I have committed a fix to Bio-Formats that allows the Bio-Formats Importer
plugin to successfully read your TIFF file. To try it, download the latest
trunk build of loci_tools.jar from:

  http://www.loci.wisc.edu/bio-formats/imagej

Please let us know if it does not work for you, and we would be happy to
investigate further.

Tamjid,

would you please refrain from posting corpulent images to this list.

By the way, your image opens without complaint in Photoshop.
After saving it in Photoshop it opens fine in ImageJ.

It doesn't open in MacOS 10.4 preview and in GraphicConverter.
