Volume rconstruction

Jarek Grodek
Hello again,

I'm working with X-ray transmission images of seeds. I was wondering if
there is any solution for reconstruction of internal structer based on
stack made from projection images captured at differnt angles? Am I
going in right way if I say that it could work like in tomography technique?

Thanks in advance.

This cannot work reliably: you are possibly missing some information.
However, if you are content with incomplete reconstructions: there are a
few papers out there which even reconstruct some sort of 3d scenes from a
stereo pair.

Usually, however, volume reconstruction means that you have a 3d stack
(i.e. a depth stack) and get a surface model from it. Most algorithms to
that end apply Marching Cubes, which is no longer patented.

IIRC the Segmentation Assistant plugin does something like that.
