arrange in a line object for shape description.

Dear all,

this is my problem: I need to correlate shape descriptors of similar objects (in this case seeds).

In this two images I used the same seed copied and pasted, in the first image the seed is in the same position and in the second in different rotations. The data of the first image are identical, as expected, but in the second image the data change, cause the different position. If I want to correlate the data I need to conduct every measurement of seeds in the same way, but I can not rotate every seed manually, because they are thousands.

Someone of you knows how to solve this problem?
The solution should be to find the two farest point in every shape and make align them in north-south position, but I have no idea how to do it.
