I am trying to demonstrate to students that equalization tends to
flatten the image histogram (at least it a binned histogram should be
flat. The regular histogram is comb-like after equalization).
When I use alt^H to plot a binned histogram I don't get the expected
flat histogram no matter how big the bins are.
YET, if I plot a cumulative histogram from the regular histogram of the
equalized image I get a straight line as expected.
If I plot a cumulative histogram from binned histogram data of the
equalized image I get a line similar in shape to the unequalized image.
It seems to me that the binning isn't working properly.
