change an image window size

I use macro to open a stack of images in a window and would like to make the window size smaller.
If I use "canvas size" to reduce the size, the data outside the new canvas size is lost. However, if I use mouse to drag the window corner, it change the window size, and at the same time all data are preserved and hidden from the new window. If I drag the window larger, the data will appear again. So my question is if there is an equivalent way to set the window size the same as dragging the window with a mouse.
