command for size distribution in different bins

Annapragada, Sriram K.
Hello,

I use the analyze function to - count the number of particles and area of each particle and get a size distribution in different bins.

1) Is there a command in Image J which I can use to write a plugin to be able to do this for a series of images in a stack - especially getting the size distribution in different bins for each slice in a stack.
2) Is it also possible to input the size of bin you need?

thanks again for the help.

Kiran.

Hello,

I have an idea, but as I am quite new at ImageJ and I don't know how to
write plug-ins yet, it's not very elegant, but in case you can't find
anything else, you can try it.
Write a macro that does the process for each of the images separately and
then re-open the results in a stack. Then, you'll have an stack for the
images and one stack for the histograms if it is what you wish. The problem
is that the final result of the count will be the addition of all the
numbers in all the windows "sumary". If you are working with a big stack
that will be a bit unconfortable.
For the bin size, you should be able to do it by choosing the number of
bins and the particle pixel dimension range in the dialog window that
appears when calling the Analyze function.
