Hi everybody,
I'm new to ImageJ but ofter a long search and a short trial, selected it as
our lab scientific image processing Open Source Software for trivial
activities such as length measurements on animal photographs.
We are, however, also interested in color measurement and quantification. We
need to quantify color changes in ornamental crustaceans subjected to
different radiation (light) regimes. We were told that such measurement
could be done using Adobe Photoshop as a software platform and either the
R*G*B or Commission Internationale
de l’Eclairage (CIE) L*a*b systems of colour analysis. Since we're new to
the topic we wonder if some o fyou could help us with these two questions:
1) Which system will work best and which system ImageJ uses? We are not yet
too sure of what are the advantages of using one or the other.
2) does ImageJ offer the chance to quantify-and compare color between two
pictures?
Best
Nuno
