Hi,
I installed imageJ and TIA reader plugin on my MAC in order to open .ser files which were obtained by FEI Tecnai TEM. According to OS X installation, I should put QTJava and libQTJNative.jnilib in the library/Java/extensions. I did it. So far I followed the instruction accordingly. When I dragged the ser file after I opened imageJ, the message showed up 'file is not in a supported format, a reader plugin is not available or it was not found.' Thus, I put TIA_Reader.jar in the folder of input-output under the folder of ImageJ. Then, I restarted the computer because I did not see TIA reader in Plugins menu/input-output. After restarting, TIA reader appeared in plugins/input-output. However, the same message came when I tried to drag see file ! So I checked TIA_Reader.jar file which I downloaded through rsb.info.nih.gov<http://rsb.info.nih.gov/>...... Even in my Mac, the message said 'the java JAR file TIA reader could not be launched. Check the console for possible error messages.’ Can you advise me how to solve it, please ? I can open TIFF files without any problem but I can’t open .ser files. Hello,
> Even in my Mac, the message said 'the java JAR file TIA reader could not be launched. Check the console for possible error messages.’ You could try turning Debug mode on (Edit > Options > Misc... > Debug mode) or running ImageJ from the command line[1]. This way you should be able to see what error messages are coming up, which hopefully would provide more insight as to what's going wrong. Hi
I use Fiji but it worked fine when I used to use it with imageJ I put the Tia reader plugin in the pluggins folder. It automatically appears in the in-out folder on the restart. However it is not automatically drag and drop compatible. It needs to be clicked on to open files. I have a macro (on a previous post) if you want to convert a whole folders worth. In ImageJ you can easily add it to the the 'handle extra file types' (can't remember the name as not in FIJI sorry) so it is drag and droppable.
