leaf asymmetry measuring

Dear all,



I just begin using ImageJ, I should measure leaf asymmetry from scanned
leafs.

Is it possible to measure automatically left and right side of leaf in the
midpoint between the base and tip, perpendicular to the mid-vein? Leafs have
normal shape - like Salix.

For instance the only solution I found is to measure it with line tool, but
it's seems quite difficult to find perpendicular line.
