marker assisted watershed

Fabrice Senger
Hi there,

is there a procedure to do marker assisted segmentation using image J's
watershed function ?

Thank you very much,

Fabrice.

IJ's Process>Binary>Watershed function is really "watershed separation" of
binary objects. To do a watershed transform, you need Daniel Sage's plugin.

Hi group,

since version 1.38d or so, Process>Binary>Find Maxima can do watershed
segmentation based on the gray value. There is some control of the
starting points via the "noise tolerance" parameter, but no manual
selection of the starting points.

Michael,
My fault! I forgot that one can also do watersahed using the Find Maxima
command. :-/

I think it would be very useful to expand the help pages regarding this
command for instance adding some images and more detail (if you have
registered in the wiki):

http://imagejdocu.tudor.lu/imagej-documentation-wiki/gui-commands/binary

I have a suggestion: the Find Maxima command has a "Light Background" option.
Would it be better if the procedure used instead the option set in
Process>Binary>Options>Black Background (so one has less options that seem
contradict each other). Does this make sense?

Regards,

Gabriel

Hi,
You could perhaps try "my" semi-automatic watershed-based segmentation
plug-in available at:
http://www.univ-reims.fr/INSERM514/ImageJ

Best regards.
