multiple selection area to multiple ROI

Jin Tao
Hi,

I have a question about transfer selection to ROI.

After I created a selection with multiple disconnected area, I clicked t
to transfer selection to ROI manager. But I could only got one ROI. If I
wish to get multiple ROI into ROI manager, what method  should I do?

For example, in my attachment, I have created selection with 8 different
area, and I want to create 8 ROI in ROI manager, what command should I use?

Thank you very much.

Good day Jin Tao,

did you consult the ImageJ user guide section 10?
<https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/docs/guide/146-10.html#toc-Section-10>

Besides many details it tells you that: "only one selection can be
active at a time"

Furthermore we read: "it is possible to add selections to the image
overlay using (Image▷Overlay▷Add Selection… [b])"

Here we read about the ROI-manager:
<https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/docs/guide/146-30.html#sub:ROI-Manager...>

In general ROIs are added to the ROI-manager one after the other.

If you work with overlays, you can move al of the selections to the
ROI-manager by the menu item "To Roi Manager".

Dear Jin Tao,

after adding the composite ROI (i.e. multiple areas) to the ROI manager,
you can use the command 'More > Split' to separate the composite ROI
into its parts.

Hope that helps,
Jan
