one more ROI question

DANIEL FÖRNVIK
Thanks for the replies!

I have most of the tools to start analyse my tumors now, but one last question. Can ImageJ save the corresponding coordinates (x,y) in my created ROI margins? Is it possible to extract that information from the *.roi files?

Best Regards

Hi,

I'm a master student in medical radiation physics at the University of Lund, Sweden. My current project is "Complementary analysis of breast cancer using MRI and breast tomosynthesis" where I try to relate physical measures of the cancer in MR images (contrast uptake curves (or if also posssible diffusion measurements)) with som physical measurements from the tomosynthesis images (3D x-ray imaging technique with the same absorbed dose as normal mammography).

I have come across the "cell outliner" plugin to ImageJ, which works really well and segmented my tumors. However, I have found no way to smoothen the ROIs created. Is there a way to do it? That would help me to analyse margins and spiculation degree of the cancers.

Another way to tackle my problem would be to plot the created ROIs' profile. So far I have only come across a plugin that plots oval profiles. Anyone that knows a better plugin or have a solution to this?

My experience with ImageJ and programming in general is limited, but I would be happy for any information regarding my questions (links etc).

Best regards
