public data sets for images?

Ovidiu Dan Iancu
Hello,

I am interested in testing some code, and I am looking for 2D or confocal
image stacks, preferably containing cell populations from the brain. Please
let me know if there are freely available such images or is someone is
willing to share such data.

Re: public data sets for images?

Shawn Mikula-2
http://brainmaps.org has more than 50 TB of sub-micron resolution brain
images, many containing Nissl-stained sections, which stains cell bodies,
and also immunocytochemical stains, which often reveal more about neuronal
morphology.  There is also connectional and tract tracing data. The majority
of the image data is from brightfield microscopy, taken using a 20x
objective (resulting in 0.46 micron/pixel resolution), though there are some
MRI datasets as well.
Cheers.
Shawn
