Hello there,
I am having a problem which may sounds silly but I can not find the solution. I do not know how to measure the polygon. I have a network with many polygons. Like in honeycomb with outline stroked. I want to find the distribution of area, circularity of the polygons. I can not achieve that with the particle analysis option since it is hallow. Can some body help me out? I really appreciate that! -- ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |

Do you have your objects defined correctly as black or white? If you get
unexpected results then invert your image (Image > Invert) and try again. Or maybe your outlines are not wide enough; an open or close function might help (Process > Binary > Open or Close). -Esteban On Mar 12, 2013 2:21 PM, "Huiming Xia" <[hidden email]> wrote: > Hello there, > I am having a problem which may sounds silly but I can not find the > solution. Hi Esteban,
Thank you very much for the response! I really appreciate your answer. However, I can not find in my imageJ the invert option. I can not open or close in the binary option either. Would you mind for further explaination? Thank you so much! Best regards, On Tue, Mar 12, 2013 at 5:42 PM, G. Hi Huiming,
Thanks for providing an image, it's very helpful. Your outlines are wide enough, so don't mind what I said about binary open or close. You just need to convert your color image to a binary (black & white) image; try this: 1. Process > Binary > Make Binary 2. Edit > Invert (you may not have to invert but do try it the first time) 3. Analyze > Set Measurements, then select "Area" and "Shape descriptors" and click OK. 4. Analyze > Analyze Particles, here I'd use Show Outlines, Display Results, Clear Results, and Summarize. Let us know if this works or if you need further guidance. -Esteban On Tue, Mar 12, 2013 at 3:32 PM, Huiming Xia <[hidden email]> wrote: > Hi Esteban, > Thank you very much for the response!
