reslicing stack perpendicular to calculated vector

radioradio
Hi!
First of all I've been totally new to this, especially scripting. Despite having read forum entries and downloading additional plugins for the last days, I'm stuck...
Here's my problem: I segmented and skeletonized a curved vessel in a stack. What I'm now trying to do is let the program find the 3 or maybe 5 closest points on this skeleton to my mouse coordinates; then it should create a vector from these points and reslice a perpendicular image; in the end I should get a nice vessel diameter to make measurements...
I don't think that it's difficult, but I can't find the right commands.
Any ideas?

I actually meant drawing the cross-sectional area at a specific point.
