stiching video files side by side

Dipanjana Ghosh
Hi all,
Hope all are doing good in COVID-19 situation.

I wanted some help about stitching or exporting separate video files (2- 3)
together to represent as a single file as shown in journals.
Any idea how to do that from image J?
Kindly let me know
Thanking you
Dipanjana

Dear Dipanjana

You can use Image > Stacks > Tools > Combine for this.

Best wishes

Re: stiching video files side by side

Dipanjana Ghosh
Hi all,
In continuation to my previous query, how to add scale bars at 3 different
location of the stitched stacks? If I am inserting scale bars before
stitching, they are going away after stitching. So after combining 3 stacks
I want to add scale bars at right corner of each individual set of stacks.
Is that possible?
Kindly let me know
Thanks & Regards,
Dipanjana

Re: stiching video files side by side

Krs5
Dear Dipanjana,

Probably,

Make a selection/ROI where you want to add a scale bar. Using Analyze > Tools > Scale Bar.... you have the option under Location to select "At Selection" and a scale bar will be placed where the ROI is.

If "Overlay" is selected the scale bar will be in the overlay on the image; if deselected it will be burned in the image and cannot be removed but will show up when the image is opened in other software.

Best wishes

Kees

Unchecking the scalebar worked...otherwise it was disappearing ...thanks a
lot..
Any idea about adding labels? When I am using Image > stacks>labels and
putting them as per x and y location, they look fine in the combined
stacks..However, when I am exporting them as avi, the labels are shifted
from exact location. How to solve this?
Thanks

Re: stiching video files side by side

Krs5
 Dear Dipanjana,

Sorry, I am not able to reproduce this problem. If I run the macro code below the labels are at the same location in both stacks

dir = getDir("Select a folder to save the results");
run("MRI Stack");
run("Duplicate...", "duplicate");
run("Combine...", "stack1=mri-stack.tif stack2=mri-stack-1.tif");
run("Label...", "format=0 starting=0 interval=2 x=5 y=20 font=15 text=[] range=1-27");
run("AVI... ", "compression=JPEG frame=5 save=["+dir+"Combined Stacks.avi]");
open(dir+"Combined Stacks.avi");
selectWindow("Combined Stacks.avi");
makeRectangle(12, 3, 10, 15);
roiManager("Add");
selectWindow("Combined Stacks");
roiManager("Select", 0);

Best wishes

Kees
