Hello,
we bought some years ago a touchmonitor for the users of our facility.
The system allows to turn the monitor into a horizontal position and to
draw selections on it with the fingers or a provided pen.
It has never been used by our users. There are mainly two problems with
it. The image is bad because there is something like a double screen
that has a lot of reflections on it. For drawing contours it is not very
exact.
I suppose that there are better touch screens available in the mean time.
Volker

While I haven't used touchscreens directly, I would be somewhat
sceptical that accurate measurements can be made with a finger, also
complicated by what you are measuring being obscured by your finger.
Using a stylus (if possible) might allow for greater precision and less
being obscured.

I have made a lot of use of a Wacom graphics tablet with a stylus for
many thousands of measurements using ImageJ.  While it took a little
time to gain practice, this was extremely rapid and reliable, and I
would certainly recommend it if it's an option for you.

Regards,
Roger
