Tali Kobilo-Moav,

what kind of images do you consider?

8bit, RGB, 32bit etc ?

Calibrated images or not?

For details see the ImageJ-manual at
        <rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/docs/guide/user-guide.pdf>

Best

Herbie

Shalom Tali,

The problem is your question does not have enough detail for us to help
you--intensity is just a feature of the image, and is therefore unitless.
Images are arrays of numbers, and that's all. Pixel a at coordinates x,y
has a value of 14, whatever. If you want a unit, you have to say what you
are measuring, and how the numbers in your image correspond to the real
world. An intensity value could be in standard deviations, elevation above
sea level, photons per second, etc. It just depends what you are measuring.
Images are merely shadows on the wall of a cave. If you say a bit more
about why you want to know the units, or what you are trying to measure, we
can help you out better.

A gmar chasima tova,

Jacob
