Image J issues

Hello,

My name is Sarika Shinde and I am an employee at the University of Pennsylvania. I operate on an Imac7.1, and we use image j for our analysis, since the past month or so I am having trouble with the program. Each time I use Image j one of my other programs on the computer go missing. In the past microsoft word, excel, firefox,eudora have disappeared. Since this is a recurrent issue I would appreciate if you could shed some light on this.

Dear Sarika,
the most likely problem is not ImageJ, but some hard disk failure. Try  
to check it with Disk Utility, into Applications/Utilities.
