Dear All,
Since upgrading to MacOSX High Sierra latest developper versions (10.13.1 version 3 & 4 (17B45a)), ImageJ and Fiji have lost their menus. I tried every possible thing including upgrading java to version 8 _151 (the latest), Version 6 of Java cannot be installed anymore also. Is there any possible solution to this very annoying problem. Thanks for any help and solution. Dear Jean-Christope,
this issue was recently discussed on the ImageJ forum: http://forum.imagej.net/t/fiji-or-imagej-lost-menu-in-new-macos-high-sierra/6222?u=imagejan Hope that helps, Jan On 26.10.2017 17:52, Jean-Christophe AME wrote: > Dear All, > > Since upgrading to MacOSX High Sierra latest developper versions (10.13.1 version 3 & 4 (17B45a)), ImageJ and Fiji have lost their menus. Thanks Jan, I saw this discussion. But what is suggested there doesn’t work anymore. That is why I came back with it. Right now I am using Fiji using the macros I wrote, at least the macro interface works and is accessible when dropping a macro on the imageJ panel. I noticed also (click right on an image) that I can access to the control Panel which has the same functionality as the main menus. I can work with it but it is fare from being easy.
I also modified the info.plist file but with no success… What I suspect is that it is an apple bug somehow. Hi Jean-Christophe,
It would be great if you could join the existing ImageJ Forum topic, to avoid fragmenting the conversation. I will upgrade my system to High Sierra today and do some experiments. I will post any findings or solutions on the forum topic. I am unable to reproduce this problem on macOS High Sierra (10.13) installed on a USB flash drive. I tried both ImageJ 1.51r running Java 1.8.0_101 and a freshly downloaded copy of Fiji running Java 1.8.0_66. -wayne -- ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |

In my experience I think that Apple is usually quite consistent with the modifications that are included even in pre-releases. So for me it is what could be expected in the final release. But I must admit the release of MacOSX 10.13 is the first that didn’t pleased me as much. Still a lot of work has to be done to match the quality of previous releases. We will see…
