Muscle morphometry

Andrea Costamagna
Hello, I`m an italian physician interested in research. With our group we need to perform morphometric studies on transverse sections of skeletal muscle of mice but only ImageJ or Cellprofiler to do it. Muscle sections are HE or My-32 stained. Can you help me to find an authomated methid to do it on these programs?

Thank you in advance

Best regards

Dr. Costamagna,

I strongly recommend that you consult one of the masters of image analysis and processing for the general principles involved.  It is very likely that you can then choose a plugin from the extensive library available for ImageJ.

Cheers and good luck,

The Macbiophotonics ImageJ distribution has many of the plug-ins you will
need.  I understand that it is straightforward to import other functions
from FIJI.  In any case, the McMaster package is well documented at
http://www.macbiophotonics.ca/ The application examples are from microscopy.
Updating is said to be way slower than FIJI, so if you are a fuddy duddy
like me who is disoriented by functions changing on their own, MBP might be
helpful.
