New beta version of consistent and elastic registration plugin bUnwarpJ

Ignacio Arganda Carreras
Dear all,

I just uploaded a new stable version of the image registration plugin
bUnwarpJ. It corrects some bugs from the previous release:

http://biocomp.cnb.csic.es/%7Eiarganda/bUnwarpJ/index.html

I called it a "beta" version because there is not too much
documentation. I'll try to write a manual soon.

There are also some new tools that allow comparing the algorithm to any
other registration technique.

Enjoy!

Thank you, we will try this.
In reality it seems not obvious if image A or B is the distorted one.
I wonder if we could use this for detecting absolute distortions in
parallel beam tomography. Two images acquired 180 degrees apart should
be mirror of each other. Discrepancies would be most likely related to
(optical) distortions. Maybe the requirement that the images, once
undistorted, should be mirror helps.
An image of a reference object like a grid also helps probably.

3D binary filters

Alex Mock-2
In reply to this post by Ignacio Arganda Carreras
Greetings to all the resourceful ImageJ users and developers!

Is there a true 3d binary filter set out there, i.e. one that takes all
26 neighbours of a pixel in a slice into account?

cheers,

Alex

Re: 3D binary filters

Hi Alex,

I had developed a 3D binary morphological plugin but didn't find time to
properly put it in my website. So here it is raw :
http://xfer.curie.fr/get/rMNB5ur0Q0l/morpho3d.zip

Uncompress the file into your plugins directory. the cubic shape with
radius 1 does the job, you can also specify a spherical shape or a
custom shape with "kernel".

Thomas
