Hi Hanna,
Would you mind using "Help > Report a Bug" from Fiji? The 1.49b is the
version of your ImageJ 1, but it doesn't give us the full picture of the
state of your installation - for example, which update sites are enabled,
or whether particular libraries are up to date. This sounds like a bug in
ImageJ2 software, but it is good to know that everything current.
Also, because you are seeing different behavior with drag and drop vs.
File > Open I would like to examine your dataset, as those functions should
behave equivalently (also, I am assuming you used File > Open here... there
are many ways to open datasets in Fiji, so if you can clarify specifically
what you did that is always helpful). If you are comfortable with your data
being public, it can be attached to the bug report generated by Help >
Report a Bug. If you would like your data to be private, then you can use
Help > Upload a Sample Image - which ensures it will only be used by
trusted Fiji developers/contributors for test purposes.
In the mean time, you can run Edit > Options > ImageJ2 and uncheck "Use
SCIFIO when opening files." That should restore the ImageJ 1.x
functionality. After receiving the extra information and sample dataset, we
should be able to get things working in SCIFIO/ImageJ2 as well.
Thanks!
- Mark
