Problems with Twain for OS X

I am trying to install the Twain plugin from the ImageJ downloads according to the following instructions.

Mac OS X (requires TWAIN compatible scanner)
Download Twain_6.class to the plugins folder.
Download the Morena framework for Mac OS X from http://www.gnome.sk/ and extract the files.
Copy morena.jar, morena_osx.jar and morena_license.jar to /Library/Java/Extensions.
Restart ImageJ.
The installation seems to go fine, but when I try to invoke the plugin I get

Plugin or class not found: "Twain_6"
(java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class SK.gnome.twain.TwainManager)

What have I missed or where have I gone wrong?
