Dear all,
I am considering to close the mailing list 'fiji-users' in favor of moving all discussions to [hidden email]. Rationale: the intention of Fiji was never to separate from the ImageJ community but instead to contribute to it. Thoughts? Ciao, Johannes _______________________________________________________ ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |
Hi Dscho,

It seems like most questions on fiji-users are not Fiji-specific, so make more sense on the ImageJ users list. As a follower of both lists, I already use rules to pool both sets of mail
in a single folder. The traffic is not overwhelming and the topics have general ImageJ interest. Hello Wayne, What makes questions specific to Fiji less appropriate than the many questions specific to a plug-in that can be found on the ImageJ mailing list? In practice it is often hard for users to know what is fiji-specific: the fiji-users list contains several examples of questions really related to ImageJ or some plug-in (in my selected archived posts I find "StackReg Output", "z maximum intensity projection", just to give some examples). So subscribers to the imagej-list only, in the present configuration actually miss interesting information, in exchange to reduced "noise" (for those who don't use Fiji) about Fiji. just my 2c _______________________________________________________ ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |

Hi Johannes,
I agree with your suggestion. I use Fiji as well as the standard ImageJ but have to admit that I never subscribed to the Fiji list because I already have enough emails coming in through the ImageJ and confocal listservers.
