Tutorial on ImageJ

Nicholas Ali
All:

I am new to ImageJ and the mailing list. I plan to contribute and both
learn from this resource.

As a beginner I have been searching for a manual or tuturials on ImageJ to
get me started. The  Documentation Wikis tutorial link does not seem to
work for me? Where can I find help on using ImageJ?
My work is mainly in segmenting anatomy from the visible human project.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Nicholas,

For segmentation within ImageJ I have built TrakEM2:

http://www.ini.uzh.ch/~acardona/trakem2.html

In particular, you want to look at the AreaList segfmentation type (a 'label', but not pixel-based).
From such labels, meshes are made with marching cubes, exportable as DXF and wavefront
for further processing in other software such as Blender or Amira.

Let me know if you need help getting up and running.

Albert

Albert:

Greatly appreciated. I need to delve further into its capabilities to get
it to work for my needs.

Thanks a great deal.

Nicholas

Hi Nicholas,

there is actually quite a lot of documentation, both about the program use
"as is", the source code and how to use the macro language and even writing
your own plugins:

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards
