Which colour CCD camera?

Dear all,

I am in the process of purchasing a new colour CCD camera and wonder if
anyone can make any recommendations to me? What I am after is:

* 3 CCD colour
* Firewire/USB operated
* C-mountable for microscopy (brightfield, darkfield, fluorescence, phase)
* (Relatively) high resolution, at least 1024 x 768
* Twain/SANE compliant for use in Win/Mac/Linux
* To be used in ImageJ
* To be used in automated (live) procedures

I suggest you research the color cameras by Qimaging Corporation
and Optronics. The websites are www.qimaging.com and
www.optronics.com. I understand some of the Qimage cameras
have a plug-in to ImageJ. Optronics is also suppose to be coming
out with a plug-in to ImageJ shortly. Even without
the plug-ins, you should have the capability to import
your images into ImageJ to the best of my
knowledge. Depending on the expertise
of your sales representative and the depth of the manufacturer's
pdf literature, you can gain considerable insight about
a prospective camera. What you buy is based in part upon
the specific needs of your research. I recommend you
speak to the manufacturers about your needs
in the context of the intended research. Then follow-up with more
specific questions to the ImageJ Interest Group as needed.

We are using a Scion Firewire camera (http://www.scioncorp.com/pages/ 
product_prices.htm). The only feature you ask and it does not provide  
is Linux compatibility.
