apply custom LUT

Jirka
This post was updated on .
Good morning,
maybe it will sound as really stupid question but I couldn t found how to
do it.
I have 8-bit image and I want change some colours manually, so I used
Image>Colour>Edit LUT...
http://rsbweb.nih.gov/ij/plugins/lut-editor.html
I changed the colours by my  will but when I save the image the colours are
same as on the beginning.
Do you have any advice what to do to save the changed image?

Thanks

Hello Jiří,
maybe you need to save this changed LUT and add it to your imagej folder.
Then you can load a saved image with the same colours.

Best regards

Hi,

by applying a LookUpTable (LUT) to your image you only change the display mapping (=how it is displayed on the screen). The values of the pixels remain unchanged. Therefore the colour(s) are not preserved if you save your image. In order to get "permanent" colours you need to change the format of your image (Image-->Type-->) to "8-bit colour" or "RGB" before saving.

Cheers Arne

Hello,
I had the input (original) image as 8-bit image, I assigned grey-scale
colour by LUT and the saved image was also 8-bit only so I should change it
to RGB image?

Thanks
